If you’re interested in a commission, it’s important to undertake some preparation.

It’s important to think about what you’d like to have painted - whether you’d like the artwork to be painted at the location or from a photo.  If it’s the latter, it’s important that the photo is your own, otherwise this will cause an issue regarding copyright law.

You also need to think about what materials you’d like to have used for the painting - whether you’d like a watercolour, oil or acrylic painting.  You may want certain colours to be used or even not used eg for it to be displayed in a certain room.

You need to think about what size you want the painting & what surface you’d like it to be painted on eg paper, canvas, panel etc.
